Earth Day Challenge

Today we worked together with our 3rd grade book buddies to help the Earth. We set the timer for 10 minutes and went outside to pick up trash. Can you believe what we found? We have talked and read about many ways to help the Earth. Post ways you can help the Earth and save the ice for the polar bears.

Little River Field Day

Monday was field day for first grade. We had a ball. We used many different skills that we have practiced in PE class with Ms. Modlin. We had relay races, jump ropes, puzzle races, paddle hockey, musical squirts, bubbles, and rattail tag. My favorite station was paddle hockey, the class really showed great sportsmanship and team work. Post your favorite part of field day.

Little River Marathon

We are all part of the Little River Marathon. We want to be healthy. We know we have to eat well and exercise to keep our bodies healthy. My favorite exercise is swimming. I've been a swimmer since I was a little girl. My daughters are now swimmers too. Tell me about your favorite exercise.

Eric Carle Week

This week our class is reading books by the wonderful author Eric Carle. Eric Carle is special because he is a picture writer, meaning he illustrates his stories as well as writes them. My favorite story is called "Have You Seen My Cat?" It is a story about a little boy that has list his cat. He meets all kinds of cars, but not his. There is a sweet surprise at the end of the story. I used to read the story to my daughter all the time. Please post about your favorite Eric Carle story.
