Today we read about Chinese New Year. We learned about many traditions. Children get red envelopes with lucky money. There are parades with dragons and lion dancers to chase away bad luck. We also read about the Chinese Zodiac. This year, 2013, will be the year of the snake. What year were you born and what is your sign? Do you think you are like your animal? Post please !
As Dani told me yesterday, I am a Rooster and I was born in 1971 (don't do the math, please :-)
ReplyDeleteDani was so excited about the lesson, she was telling me all the traditions and said that I had to travel home to TX to see my parents (part of the tradition). What a great lesson and to see the kids so engaged and learning about a different country and culture.

I am Paura Fogle's father. I am in San Francisco right now to attend a Chinese New Year Party given by the company that I work for. Working with China requires early morning work because China is 12 hours ahead in time. So 2 in the morning here is 2 in the afternoon in China. I will send a few pictures when I return to North Carolina.
